To apply for a Labourer's CSCS Card, you must:

Pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment touchscreen test at your nearest test centre
Complete a 3-hour online Health & Safety course

Once both requirements are completed, we will process your CSCS card within 5–8 working days.

To renew your Labourer's CSCS Card, you will need to:

Pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test
Complete the CSCS 3-hour online Health & Safety course

Card validity after renewal:

If your current CSCS card is still valid or has expired within the last 12 months, your renewed card will be valid for 5 years
If your CSCS card has been expired for more than 12 months, the renewed card will be valid for 2 years, in line with the new CSCS renewal procedure

Important: We strongly recommend renewing your card at least one month before it expires to avoid reduced validity.

The course includes:

Easy-to-follow online modules covering essential health and safety topics
A final online test based on the modules you completed
Identity verification via a laptop webcam using a valid passport or driving licence (Don't have ID? No problem – we'll provide the appropriate waiver form.)

Both the Level 1 Award and the CSCS Online Course will allow you to apply for a Labourer's CSCS Card.

However, you must also complete the CITB 45-minute touchscreen test for your CSCS card to be processed successfully.

Important: If both the course and the test are not completed, your CSCS card application will be rejected by CSCS. This is a mandatory CSCS policy.
